Yes darling, I did say, “Time to play with your food.”
Well maybe not play, but let’s be creative and have some fun with snack time!
To be honest, I do not remember when we started with these smile snack plates. It is not uncommon to hear, “Can I make a smiley plate?” at our house. The answer that follows is usually a “yes”, or “yes but just make it all healthy.” For as long as I can remember, we have served up snacks in the honorable resemblance of a happy face, I mean why not?
I wish I had taken more pictures over the years, but here are a few in hopes to inspire you to enJOY playing with your food and have some happy snacking…
In case you are wondering… that is a no-bake cookie nose and a string cheese mouth. 🙂
This was more of a lunch plate then a snack plate with grilled cheese eyes, snow pea eye brows, and pretzel ball hair!
This plate is more of a power snack plate, serving up lots of protein with a peanut butter nose for apple dipping and cottage cheese and egg eyes.
Ahhhh, what a beautiful smile you have! 🙂 And I love your dried apricot eyes!!
Reece couldn’t even wait to sit down before starting to snack!
Caught in the act of playing with their food! I mean, creating another masterpiece 🙂
See the extraordinary in the ordinary every day!
It’s the little things that can make life so fun 🙂
