This is such a fun, easy, and yummy dessert that makes a wonderful display for picnics and parties! Now we have had and shared Lily’s Cold Stone Ice Cream Birthday with you already, however, we came up with more scrumptious ice cream mix ideas and another way to share this great dessert idea with your guests. We again featured some of the old faithful toppings like syrups, nuts, and candies but we added some new favorites like cookie dough and frosting! 🙂 I mean why not?
Although we again used a cold stone to mix ingredients on and then put in the bowls, we wanted to share how easy it is to turn this into a Sundae Bar with the same mix it up ideas in case you don’t have a marble stone.
This is such a fun interactive way to share a very delicious dessert that everyone will be pleased with because they can customize it to their liking! Speaking of customizing… we had fun this time each creating a name for our mix of ice cream and selected toppings. As you can see below, some mixes are a bit unusual but I am telling you that my Mommy Gone Wild mix was out of this world!
The extra sweetness with the cake and frosting mixed in and the contrast of the crunchy and salty potato chips was phenomenal! My mouth is watering as I type so this is very hard to share with you since I am typing at 11PM and I try not to eat after 7PM each night!!!
OK, so let me share a few tips so you can easily whip up and enjoy a sundae bar with your favorite folks…
TIPS TO KEEP IT SIMPLE:
Just buy a small Pepperidge Farm cake and a few brownies from the bakery if you don’t have the time to bake yourself.
TIPS TO KEEP IT CUTE:
Put items in similar bowls, like below I but the peanut butter and frostings in similar bowls. Then I put most of the other toppings in matching custard cups and then just grouped the similar bowls together. Also it looks great if you have a cake stand that stands taller to give your sundae bar some height. Add some flags if you are feeling patriotic or if it is around Memorial Day or the Fourth of the July! Lastly, you can create a fun menu or purchase our menu below and print out to give your guests some wonderful sundae ideas in case they get overwhelmed at the sight of all the delicious toppings!
BASICS:
Put out your toppings and bowls.
Have everyone take two spoons if they really want to mix it up and blend their toppings right into their ice cream sundae.
Cookie overload was the most popular menu choice this time! And just look below at how it all mixes together!
Is your mouth watering yet? 🙂
OK, before I share those sundae bar menus I spoke of earlier, let me just share a few more of the creative mixes that our guests enjoyed…
Everyone loved the CREATE YOUR OWN section of our menu with lots of topping options!
And my mom had a really great idea if you didn’t have all the toppings. She suggested that you just star the ingredients that you are featuring that day. You could also laminate your menu to use over and over and then use star stickers by the featured ingredients. Otherwise if you want to dive in and have feature them all like we did, just use the menu toppings as your shopping list! Just don’t forget the ice cream 🙂
To purchase our menu just CLICK HERE to bip on over to the Joyful Daisy Boutique! You can print out immediately after purchasing for just $3.95.
Thanks for stopping and shopping with us 🙂
